Charleston Wedding Planner
Unfortunately, there are no regulations when it comes to qualifying as a Charleston wedding planner. Anyone event can call themselves a planner, even if they have never planned a wedding. Here are some things to consider when looking for a Charleston wedding planner:
Personality – When you are trusting someone to plan the most important day of your life, it’s important that you work well with your planner. We want to reduce your stress, not add to it.
Experience – Nothing can replace experience when it comes to looking for a Charleston wedding planner including knowing the venues, developing a vendor network and knowing how to handle wedding day emergencies.
Education – Education can’t replace experience but being educated in the technical aspects of planning is a great place to start.
Associations – ABC, ISES, CBA, and CMBEA all have a code of ethics that members must adhere to in order to remain members, making them accountable to their clients and vendors.
References, testimonials and reviews – Reviewing other bride’s experiences with a planner is an excellent way to start to decide on who you’d like to work with.
Full time vs. part time – some planners have a full time job and wedding plan after hours. This limits their ability to attend site visits and set up vendor appointments for brides during weekdays when most appointments are available.
Business – Is this Charleston SC wedding planner treating wedding planning as a hobby or is it a legitimate business? Items to check for are: website, contracts, business license and insurance.
Pricing – Brides who shop solely on price are not as likely to find a good match. If a planner’s pricing is considerably lower than most it’s likely they don’t have most of the items listed above.
Charleston Destination weddings can be more stressful, especially for those brides who don’t have a chance to visit venues and vendors in advance. At Tanis J Events we are the eyes and ears of our destination brides.
